deadbeat blogger

Hey friends,
I have been such an inactive blogger lately, and I apologize!  The blog has kept me going until spring and since I have just been out enjoying the weather and been avoiding the internet as much as possible.  That, and I got a new full time job AND been busy starting up a production company.

It could be a great thing!  As an artist,  I don’t know much about business, so I’m counting on my partners, and all the while it should be very interesting to learn about starting up a business. The whole experience is A+.   Some of the live concert photographs I’ve taken are up on our Myspace and our Facebook pages, check em out!   Groups we’ve worked with include The Captains Map leads to a Vortex, Endangered Ape, and Nista.

As well, I’ve got a great batch of lovely photos featuring the beautiful Hefter Twins, Jackie and Leanna who are the most adorable and fun girls to work with!

Le Meilleure Poutine

What fun is a night out in Quebec if you can’t get some late night greasy food afterwards at any hour?!! The most desirable and delicious night time snack is a poutine from Rapido on St. Denis!! It has been awarded third place for “Le Meilleure Poutine” by Felicitations! (The best poutine)… If it was up to me I’d give it #1 Le meilleure poutine!

Gotta love those cheese curds, gravy and delicious french fries! Bon Appetite!

Happy Easter!

Spring has seriously sprung, today is the cutest day of the year in terms of holiday colors combos, animal icons and chocolate Easter bunnies.  I’ve never really been educated on the meaning of Easter, all I know is it’s the day of the death and resurrection of Jesus.  Coming from a non-Christian family, I always just knew of Easter as the day that the Easter Bunny came and hid eggs around the house.  (Also, we had a long weekend).

I would like to avoid looking like an asshole to religious believers and won’t lie but this post is simply to share the cuteness of bunnies that look very similar to other cute animals.

I got these photos in an email from my Nana wishing me a Happy Easter and to Avoid Identity Theft.  They are way to cute to not share, and it has been difficult choosing which ones to post.  I have no idea who took these photos but since they are running around in email forwards, I will assume they are some kind of Easter stock photos.

The other day I took some 180 shots of bustling Saint Catherine Street in Montreal on one of the first real days of Spring.  They turn out to be quite nice little QTVR movies as well.

Ironboarding!!

Sick of traditional long boarding and skateboarding,  Jaron is searching for a new way to ride.  This fierce board has no wheels, no fins and no motor.  It’s seemingly impossible but this thrill seeker does not know the meaning of the word impossible.

Standing outside of Paul’s Boutique, proves how awesome this new sport is.  There is a tiny sticker on the window with his face on it.

Jaron is not intimidated by leather jackets or parking lots.  He ripped over those parked cars in seconds flat with his keen maroon sweater.

It’s been a long day, and Jaron’s calves are sore.  He hauls his new board home.

Come on in!

Would a posting of Montreal’s bright and beautiful colorful double doors be too obvious? overdone? cliche? Able to be picked up at a silly postcard stand? Maybe so…but they are so beautiful, it was bound to happen..

How about if I include a nice hip hop track for you to play in the background while you enjoy the photos?

Café Boutique Eva B

evab

What doesn’t Eva B on St Laurent Blvd have to offer the modern day Montreal hipster? This ever loving thrift store complete with a full espresso bar (and delicious homemade vegetarian soup) sells retro clothes from the 60s to the 90s and will even buy your old clothes right off your back.  The store also has the most elaborate and interesting selection of costume rentals all year long that are just as thrifty and hard to find as any good vintage outfit.  It’s like walking through the costume/props room of any University drama department, with less dust and more light.  The messiness of the costumes and the stuffed racks make the hunt all the more interesting to rummage through.  The floors are creaky and old, with vintage couches, chairs and tables to sip your coffee, and old dressers/mirrors displaying antique jewelery as well as new handmade jewelery and clothing designed and brought in by local artists. Old bookshelves hold used books and CDs for sale and vintage suitcases display lovely vintage shoes and boots in all sizes.  In the past month Eva B has expanded to be an open art gallery where local artists can bring in paintings, and photography to display and sell through the store.  Isn’t that lovely?
